How much time will our team photos take and what will they cost?
We know that coaches don’t like picture day because it takes away from practice time. With Susan Cooper Photography, we’ve developed a fast and efficient system that, in most cases, will leave you with time for practice. For example, if everyone is ready on time, we can shoot three large football teams in an hour and 15 minutes. When booking your appointment, we will be able to tell you how much time you will need for your photo day.There is no shooting fee for team and individual photo shoots. We make our money from the individual purchases by the athletes.
What do the coaches receive?
The head varsity coach receives a 16x20 team photo and all other coaches receive 8x10 photos. In most cases, the team also receives rebate from the photo sales made on the day of the shoot.
How many photographers will be at photo day?
Depending on how many athletes you have in your program, we will come prepared with an appropriate number of photographers and staff. Small programs (30 or less) normally require one photographer; medium sized programs (31-80) usually require two photographers, and large programs (81-150+) could require three photographers. Photographer assistants and cashiers will also attend your photo day to help with order forms and organization. We request that a coach be present on photo day.
What happens if someone makes a face in the team picture?
We pride ourselves on being fast and efficient, but quality is still our number one goal. We take time to ensure that every team photo is symmetrically balanced. We use spotters to watch for athletes who are intent on “spoiling” the photo.
Will you edit our photos?
Although we make every effort to take the “perfect” photo, things can happen. And because quality is our number one goal, we take the time to edit photos for closed eyes, funny faces, and inappropriate hand signals. We make sure that all eyes are open and that nothing spoils the aesthetic nature of the photo.
Why should the coach care if the order forms get distributed to the athletes a few days before the shoot, or whether the athletes purchase photos?
In most cases, teams receive a rebate from photo day sales. Therefore, the more the athletes purchase, the more the team makes. The rebate can also be applied to award/trophy plaques and photo gift purchases. Depending on the total sales, your trophies could be free!
We send the order forms to coaches approximately one week before photo day. We ask that the coach distribute the forms two to three days before the shoot. Coaches do not handle any of the money, our cashiers will take care of the order forms and money on photo day.
Will you give team photos to the yearbook?
Yes, we will not only share team photos with your yearbook staff; if we are taking action photos of your team, we may provide the yearbook with a select number of action photos as well.
How do we get action photos of our team?
You need to let us know at the begining of your season. When you call to schedule your team photo day let us know that you are interested in action photos. We will request that you email or fax us a copy of your schedule and roster. Our action calendar fills up quickly, so if you request action photography late in the season, we may not be able to fit your team in, so get your request in early. There is no shooting fee for action photography services for varsity teams that use our company for their team and individual (T & I) photography.
The action photos will be posted on our website for viewing and purchase. The action photos can also be used for photo plaques, trophies and other products (link to product) that can be used for awards, gifts and fundraising.
What if we want to do a “team or League Purchase”?
Susan Cooper Photography is happy to create custom packages for team or league purchases. All you need to do is call us to discuss your particular needs and we will handle the rest.
Can you help our team with fundraising and is there a minimum order?
We have several fundraising items that are great sellers, especially when they have your team photo and/or logo on them.
There is no minimum order. We make samples that you can display at your parent meetings and games. You take orders for the products and we will make the items based on the orders you submit.
